The Family's Story
In 1919 the Botto Poala brothers took over the Reda group and became leaders in the textile industry, first in Italy and then in the world. From left to right: Albino, Roberto, Giorgio, Luigi and Andrea.
Today, under the leadership of the CEO Ercole Botto Poala and with the help of his cousins, the family keeps widening the horizons of innovation, always with respect for the roots and traditions that have always been part of their DNA.
Around the world
The vision has never been limited to the production of high-quality fabrics. The expansion beyond the Italian borders took the family to New Zealand where, in 1993, it bought its first farm.
The presence in New Zealand gave the family the opportunity to meet professionals and workers, to really understand how the work is carried on and to admire the incredible beauty of those lands.
Owning the farms means developing first-hand knowledge of the raw material, helping us make informed choices throughout the subsequent stages of the supply chain.
Otamatapaio
This was the first step towards creating Otamatapaio, an ambitious project that aims to export premium Manuka honey to Italy. Otamatapaio, whose name is inspired by the first family farm in New Zealand.
The goal is clear: bring to Italy the Manuka Honey tradition, raising awareness on an exceptional product for his beneficial properties.
More than just a place
Otamatapaio's supply chain is traceable from New Zealand farms all the way to distribution in Europe.
Throughout the process, information regarding the product's origin and journey is maintained, and inspections are conducted to verify compliance with applicable quality requirements.
