The Hives

Our bee hives are in the remotest locations of the South Island of New Zealand, immersed in natural, unpolluted paradises.

Our supply network is composed of more than 125 beekepers, all aligned with our values of quality, sustainability and a profound respect of Nature.

Meet the Bees

Did you know that our Manuka Honey is made by Italian bees? Yes, because Italian bees are the most appreciated all around the world for their docile disposition!

The bee collects nectar from the Mānuka flower and stores it in its honey bag to transport it home. While the nectar is in the bee's honey bag, it mixes with enzymes and proteins, which turn it into honey.

The honey is then thickened thanks to the high temperatures in the hive, obtained by combined body heat and moving the air with the wings.

Harvesting and Aging

The honey frame is taken to the production facilities where the honey is harvested through a centrifuge, spinning the combs so that the honey flows out. Everything is done with great care for the well-being of the bees.

At this point, the raw honey is poured into drums and left to age. At this stage, initial testing is done at IANZ (International Accreditation New Zeland) laboratories.

Creaming

After a slow aging process, honey is creamed for 3 days with daily quality checks.

After, it is filtered and put into food grades drums for storage.

Testing and Certifications

Each individual batch undergoes a meticulous process in which samples are diligently collected and sent to an accredited laboratory.

Here, under strict supervision, these samples undergo rigorous testing procedures to obtain UMF certification. This meticulous certification process is a testament to our ongoing commitment to ensure the highest standards of quality and authenticity in every jar of our delicious monoflower Manuka honey.

Packing and Delivery

Once all production processes are completed, our honey is packaged in jars. Our packaging is made from 100% recyclable plastic, a decision that also makes transport more efficient and sustainable.

From our warehouses in New Zealand, the honey arrives in Biella, Italy, at our headquarters in Valdilana. We work with a number of logistics partners for our international exports to ensure that our products arrive in your country in perfect condition.
